Nurse

Provide routine nursing care and assessment to children and adolescents in our psychiatric residential treatment facility.  Support the promotion of a therapeutic treatment environment.  Coordinate and provide medical and psychiatric services as mandated by state regulatory and Joint Commission standards. Serves as liaison between the Children's Center and medical vendors in the community.  Promotes the education, care, and assessment of all mental health and medical needs of the clients.  Provides leadership to staff in the daily care of clients.  Full-time positions involves (4) 10-hour shifts per week, the part-time position includes weekend coverage, with opportunity for a shift or two during the week, if desired.  

  • Work closely with clients and treatment staff to insure a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide routine nursing care and assessment
  • Administer medication 
  • Complete health assessments for every client upon intake
  • Review client injury reports
  • Maintain vital signs of all clients
  • Ensure that staff are utilizing proper restraint procedures based on Safe Crisis Management (SCM) approaches and behavior techniques
  • Serve as the liaison between treatment team and LIP
  • May accompany clients to outside medical appointments or activities as required

Team oriented work environment!  Schedule:  12:00 to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

REQUIREMENTS:  Registered nurse with active, unrestricted PA license. Will consider practical nurse on path to RN licensure.
