Refocus Specialist-Alternative Education

The Refocus Specialist implements behavioral intervention programming to ensure the efficient triage and behavioral interventions with students:

  • Oversee and monitor the operations of the time-out area and the refocus room to assure the use of proper intervention techniques and completion of written documentation.
  • Supervise the efficient triage with students who exit the classroom and ensure that the correct steps are being followed during the time-out process
  • Carry out decisions regarding disciplinary actions/plans for students in crisis
  • Provide counsel for students in need of support and processing in the Resource Room
  • Monitor individual student special programs to ensure that all support staff are following the procedures set in each plan

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in social services or related field is required
Requirements


Ability to obtain clean clearance for FBI Fingerprints, Child Abuse, and PA Criminal History

  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment physical, drug screening and PPD test
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have access to reliable transportation

Schedule

  • Monday thru Friday, daytime
  • School-year

Minimum Entry Rate

  • $16.85/hr. with Bachelor's degree; adjusted for experience
