ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Develop and implement educational and social skills training curriculum/activities.

KEY MEASURES:

  • Prepare and turn in weekly lesson plans to the Program Supervisor on Fridays for the following week.
  • Facilitate daily age appropriate individual and group hands-on activities to promote individual academic and personal success with specified therapeutic goals and measurable outcomes daily.
  • Coordinate academic and social tasks with specified objectives and goals to address student needs as identified on IEPS.
  • Encourage student participation in all activities.
  1. Complete educational assessments/evaluations and Curriculum Based Assessments (CBA's).

KEY MEASURES:

  • Develop and administer testing material.
  • Grade all tests and papers.
  • Perform and score Curriculum Based Assessments.
  • Complete progress reporting for school districts on an as needed basis.
  • Distribute copies of assessments to the appropriate staff, programs, and school district personnel.
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives which relate directly to the student's needs as listed on their IEP.
  1. Complete job related reports, notes, and documentation as necessary.

KEY MEASURES:

  • Complete monthly review paperwork for SBLP updates.
  • Develop termination summary upon discharge.
  • Maintain weekly statistics regarding services provided including daily points and refocus time, etc.
  1. Develop behavior management programs.

KEY MEASURES:

  • Promote positive interaction between students and encourage progress on individual treatment objectives.
  • Implement behavior strategies with S.E.L.F. and individual treatment programs for each child.
  • Complete applicable special program charts.
  • Provide behavioral incentives to students.
  1. Develop and maintain effective working relationships to ensure quality, seamless service for all students.

KEY MEASURES:

  • Conduct community meetings at the beginning and end of program days.
  • Use open communication with members of the treatment team, outside agencies and schools, ensuring positive relationships and continuity of care.
  • Practice social responsibility by participating in meetings with team members to review progress and seek input for behavioral interventions as needed.
  1. Assist in ensuring a safe environment for all students using effective behavior management techniques.

KEY MEASURES:

  • Utilize Safe Crisis Management approaches and techniques when necessary.
  • Respond quickly and effectively in crisis situations.
  • Conduct Life Space Interviews as necessary to prevent crisis situations or in response to a crisis.
  • Model the Sanctuary commitment of Non-Violence by use of de-escalation techniques as the first course of action.
  • Use S.E.L.F. to facilitate student movement through the four critical stages of recovery.
