Behavioral Health Worker

Do you like working in a school environment? As part of the Community School Based Behavioral Health Team, you will provide 1:1 therapeutic activities, school and home-based behavioral supports, in coordination with CSBBH treatment team to facilitate educational, behavioral, and mental health services to children within the Union City School District

Position Description:This position provides individual therapeutic interventions in the school and home for children/adolescents within the framework of cognitive, physical, social, and emotional aspects of the developmental stage. Position will provide intensive support and reinforce learned skills in settings where client benefits most, including school and home settings. They will maintain the effective working relationship between client, family, and the school, along with providing crisis intervention as necessary in the school, home, and community settings. The Behavioral Health Worker adheres to the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize the S.E.L.F Model during daily interaction, but most importantly during social skills sessions and crisis intervention. Other responsibilities include:

  • Facilitation and coordination of clients' treatment plan goals as part of the CSBBH treatment team,
  • Implementing behavioral interventions
  • Conducting functional behavioral assessments
  • Documenting progress
  • Providing 1:1 and group therapeutic activities
  • Attend required trainings and in-services

Work Hours:Full time, full-year, 37.5 hours/week; Schedule: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. (with flexibility for home visits/meetings, as needed. "On-call" availability outside of program hours is shared between three behavioral health workers.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Early Childhood, or related field required;1-2 years minimum of experience working with children/adolescents in behavioral and mental health field. Preference given to those with Residential Treatment and School Based experience.

Requirements: 21 years of age or older; Ability to obtain clean clearance for FBI Fingerprints, Child Abuse, and PA Criminal History; Official transcripts and diploma to verify educational level. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or related field required. EOE.

Pay: $13.50 - $15.70 per hour
