The Behavior Counselor is located in a particular classroom, along with a SARCC on site or virtual teacher, and academic support staff and will provide the immediate guidance and behavioral interventions necessary to maintain a therapeutic learning environment within the program milieu. Safety, emotional regulation, loss and future are the primary factors considered in developing objectives, consulting with colleagues, and implementing interventions.
This position works closely with the program supervisor, teachers, therapists and refocus specialists to ensure effective, safe and coordinated services for all students.
Work Schedule: 8:30-4:30, M-F throughout school year; benefits continue for 12 months
Paid Leave During School Year - School holidays (avg 21) plus 6 flexible use days
Education: Bachelor's degree required
